In this case the Fortune 1000 retailer had an extensive data processing department, but had so many projects to respond to that it was nearly impossible to look for problems that users had not even identified yet. By taking a basic principle of stock manipulation and deriving formulas to take into account their specific needs, a solution was created that saved almost $1 million in the first test run of a few months that escalated to over $100 million in savings over the next five years.

Our customer had an opportunity to get a large amount of business should they submit their proposal. This required that they bring in

another company to integrate the existing system and a new component. Our customer felt they needed an impartial advocate, someone who had no vested interest in the deal going through to act in an advisory capacity. We completed our analysis and gave them a balanced approach to an important business opportunity.
